A Utility M.E.P engineer is a engineer who works under a utility section. The main job duties is to design, implement, and maintain utility infrastructures, such as water or gas mains, electrical grids, and other types of delivery systems.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
1.Develop designs, plans, and operations for utility systems, such as water, gas, and wastewater.
2.Identify and resolve system failures and perform or oversee preventative maintenance.
3.Direct project groups and/or technicians, providing activities and guidance on utility process, design, and construction.
4.Compile data on utility process units, monitoring system efficiency and energy and material usage.
5.Manage utility construction projects, developing project scope, timelines, specifications, and budgets.
6.To apply the technical expertise and knowledge that will support the designing, testing, and troubleshooting and help in better delivery of the thermal process.
7.To make an active contribution in the research and development efforts by understanding the thermal systems advances that will match with the emerging technologies.
8.To monitor the execution of the developmental efforts and think of innovative ideas to build and design the HVAC system within the given budget and time .
9.Available to work shift or weekends as part of a normal rotation.
10.Trouble-shoots cooling , heating, electrical and pneumatic controls.
11.Disassembles, replaces, and adjusts defective parts12.Read blueprints, schematics, diagrams, or technical orders to determine methods and sequence of assembly.
13.Order technician to Repair, rework, or calibrate hydraulic or pneumatic assemblies or systems to meet operational specifications or tolerances.
14.Instructs custodians and other school personnel in the efficient, economical and safe practices.
Minimum Qualification & Experience:
– Bachelor degree (Mechanical or Electrical Engineer).
Required Skills & Knowledge:
1. Knowledge of the principles of air-conditioning and air-conditioning maintenance method.
2. Knowledge of air compressors, pneumatic controls, electronic temperature controls, HVAC system, including gas-fired units, kitchen equipment.
3. Chillers, energy management systems, pumps (2 and 4-pipe systems).
4. Knowledge of standard parts, tools, and test equipment used in the trade and safe installation of new and replacement parts.
