The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), an impartial, neutral and independent organisation striving to protect and assist the victims of war and internal violence, has been working in Sudan since 1978. The ICRC is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person for the following position in Khartoum: Flying Accountant>
Duties and responsibilities:
Ÿ Prepares and posts accounting entries in the accounting software on a regular basis.
Ÿ Ensures accuracy and completeness of accounting transactions in accordance with financial procedures.
Ÿ Helps ensure that operations run smoothly through efficient cash-flow management, covering the fund needs of the delegation/structure.
Ÿ Keeps files up to date at all times and guarantees proper filing of relevant supporting documents for future reference, including audits.
Ÿ Performs regular integrity checks of accounting entries and account balances.
Ÿ Participates in monthly closing activities and is responsible for part of them.
Ÿ Provides support to other departments and responds to semi-routine and non-standard inquiries when necessary.
Ÿ Gives guidance to Accountant 1.
Ÿ Identifies anomalies or other issues and proposes solutions to his/her supervisor
Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:
Ÿ Bachelor’s Degree, an Associate Degree or equivalent higher education degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or Economics.
Ÿ Additional vocational training/Diploma in accounting
Ÿ 4-6 years of experience in finance, accounting, bookkeeping, bank industry, administration or similar position.
Ÿ Expert level in computer skills
Ÿ Fluent command of English and Arabic
Ÿ Computer proficiency.
Ÿ Ability to travel within Sudan and overnight in the field (1 – 7 days)>
